SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Two Islamic State (ISIS) militants were killed in a U.S.-led Coalition strike in Kirkuk province on Sunday, the Iraqi military said.

Iraqi Security Media Cell said in a statement that the Coalition forces conducted a strike against ISIS militants in Wadi al-Kur in Kirkuk province at the request of the Iraqi military.

“The F-15 planes of the international coalition carried out an airstrike in Wadi al-Kur in Kirkuk governorate on the order of the Joint Operations Command,” the Iraqi military said.

Iraq declared victory over Islamic State in December 2017 but the militants have regrouped in the Hamrin mountain range which extends into the northern provinces – an area described by officials as a “triangle of death”.
