The special election for the provincial council of Iraq began at 7:00 am today in all Iraqi provinces, including the Kurdistan Region, in today’s election only security forces and refugees have the right to vote and participate.
Also, Polling stations have been opened in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) cities for this process.
According to Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) 1,002,393 special voters and more than 48 thousand transfers participate in this election,
Meanwhile, general election will begin at 7:00 am on Monday, December 18, 2023 in 15 Iraqi provinces and will continue until 6:00 pm.
“Approximately 8,000 voting centers and 39,000 polling stations have been prepared for voters,” according to the IHEC, which stated that 15,108,135 voters will take part in the polls.
