Iraq is developing drone technology

SULAIMANI – (ESTA) The Iraqi military industry says it plans to build armored vehicles, binoculars and drones next year.

“The board has begun manufacturing western and eastern light weapons and pistols, which will be manufactured in large government-backed factories fully equipped” Iraqi Military Industry Board Chairman Mustafa Ati said.

Also, he announced “Next year, we will start building mortar shells, armored vehicles, binoculars, thermal sensitive cameras, drones and a new model of combat armor.”

Regarding drones, Ati explained that the use of drones has become an important issue in all countries of the world, not only in the military, but also used to monitor power lines, communications and oil facilities, and in agriculture.
