Iraq’s Speaker, French President Discuss Bilateral Relations

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi met with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday in Paris to discuss the bilateral relations between Iraq and France.

The focus of the meeting was on the strategic partnership agreement that has been signed between the two governments.

The Media Office of the Parliament Speaker issued a statement emphasizing the importance of implementing this agreement for the benefit of both nations.

The meeting also addressed efforts to de-escalate the situation in the region. Speaker Al-Halboosi stressed the need for friendly countries, including France, to take proactive measures to reduce tension and prevent further escalation.

The statement also highlighted the importance of considering humanitarian aspects, such as the protection of civilians in the Gaza Strip, and the establishment of relief channels to address the ongoing crisis.
