73 arrested for drug-related crimes in Sulaimani in September, says Asayish

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish) has announced the latest statistics on drug-related arrests in the area during the month of September this year.

According to the Anti-Drug Department, in coordination with the Sulaimani Security Directorate, the Operations Directorate of the Agency, and the Raparin Security Directorate, a total of 73 individuals have been arrested on charges of drug use, distribution, and trafficking in the month.

The arrests were made in Sulaimani city and surrounding areas.

Asayish forces seized a total of 2,220 kilograms of various drugs, including opium, heroin, crystals, and tramadol pills.

The Agency restressed its commitment to cracking down on drug-related crimes and ensuring the safety and security of the Kurdistan Region citizens.
