High-Level Iraqi Delegation Arrives in Tehran to Finalize Security Agreement

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — High-Level Iraqi Security Delegation Arrived in Tehran on Sunday to Finalize Security Agreement. 

A high-level Iraqi security delegation, led by National Security Advisor Qassim al-Araaji, has arrived in Tehran to finalize the implementation of a security agreement between Iraq and Iran.

The delegation includes Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Interior Minister Rebar Ahmad and Kurdistan Security Agency Chief Hiwa Ahmad.

The purpose of the visit is for the Iraqi delegation to meet with Iranian security officials and engage in discussions regarding the implementation of the security agreement between the two countries.

This agreement aims to enhance “cooperation and strengthen security measures in the region,” according to officials from Teheran and Baghdad.

The discussions between the Iraqi and Iranian officials are expected to focus on various aspects of the security agreement, including intelligence sharing, border control, and joint efforts in “counterterrorism” operations.
