PUK President, Nouri al-Maliki meet in Baghdad

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Talabani, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, met with the head of state of law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, on Monday. 

“The meeting also attended by the member of the PUK politburo, Khalid Shwani, discussing the general situation of the country,” read Talabani’s media office in a statement, adding that they stressed supporting and implementing the government agenda to secure a decent and stable life for the people without differences.

Discussions also touched upon Kurdistan-Baghdad issues as well as persisting the talk to reach an inclusive resolution and marking the end of the disagreements, the statement added.

The two sides reaffirmed the necessity of talks to reach a positive result as well as initiating a new political stage so that everyone can lead the country for stability and welfare, according to the statement.
