PUK President tells Iran’s Foreign Minister: ‘We support dialogue and responsible understanding’

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani and the Foreign Minister of Iran on Monday discussed the latest political developments in the region, according to a statement.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian received PUK’s Talabani in Teheran at the headquarters of his Ministry.

The two sides stressed developing PUK-Iran friendly relations and expanding cooperation between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and Iran for the sake of the region’s stability, Talabani’s office said in a statement.

Speaking on the latest political developments in the region, Talabani highlighted that his party aims to fulfill stability and coexistence in the region.

“We support dialogue and responsible understanding,” Talabani told Iran’s Abdollahian, according to the statement.

The statement further added that the pair discussed developing trading ties between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, as well as Iran.
