PUK President says internal disagreements to not serve Kurdistan

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The internal disagreements won’t serve the people and the Kurdistan Region, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani on Thursday said.

PUK’s Talabani’s words were amid a meeting with the French acting consul general, in Sulaimani’s Dabashan area.

“In the meeting, developing the relations and the Kurdistan Region political situation were discussed,” the readout of the meeting released by Talabani’s office read.

The pair also emphasized “enduring dialogues and resolving the issues,” according to the statement.

During the meeting, Talabani explained his party’s stance regarding the recent political developments in the Region.

“The internal disagreements won’t serve the people and the Kurdistan Region,” Talabani told the French diplomat.

“I wish everyone act responsibly with the situation and overcome the issues and the problems,” he said.

Talabani further noted that “the real partnership and  joint work are key factors of fulfilling the high interests.”

He also reaffirmed their commitment to establish unity among Kurds that serves the Kurdistan Region and the people’s livelihoods.
