SULAIMANI (ESTA) — One was killed following an armed clash between two families in Bazian west of Sulaimani on Sunday night.
According to information obtained by Esta Media Network, the clash occurred due to a land dispute between the families.
One was killed after the two sides exchanged gunfire.
Esta has learned the families have a long feud over the same issue which has remained unresolved.
Due to the widespread of guns and arms in the hands of citizens, courts have become less popular to address feuds and problems in the Kurdistan Region.
Easy access to firearms in the black market has further exacerbated the situation.
