Prime Minister Sudani, Russian Ambassador discuss bilateral ties

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on Saturday received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Elbrus Kotrashev.

“During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the date for His Excellency`s official visit to Russia, as per the extended invitation,” the readout of the meeting released by Sudani’s office read.

“The meeting highlighted Iraq`s crucial regional role, emphasizing its efforts to foster convergence of viewpoints and enhance regional security, stability, and development,” it said.

“The Prime Minister reaffirmed Iraq`s strong commitment to supporting peaceful resolutions to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and ending its wide-ranging repercussions,” it added.
