Kirkuk Health Department refutes claims on Ebola virus outbreak

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Health officials in Kirkuk refuted claims regarding the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the city after social media was swept by rumors.

“The claims on the Ebola virus outbreak are untrue. No cases have been recorded,” Kirkuk Health Department said in a statement.

“We will take legal action against those who published this fake news,” the statement added.

Earlier yesterday, some media outlets, as well as social media accounts claimed that an Ebola virus case has been recorded in the city, a claim that was subsequently refuted by officials.
