More than 100 businesses have been shut down in Sulaimani during May: Authorities

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Local authorities announced on Tuesday they had shut down 105 businesses in Sulaimani City during the previous May over violating instructions, according to a statement.

At least 65 tons of expired foodstuffs that are not suitable for consumption have been destroyed as well during the month.

Among the 105 punished businesses, 35 of them were handed to court and faced prosecutions.

The statement noted that the amount of financial penalties imposed on the violators is more than 71 million Iraqi Dinars.
