Talabani’s initiative to plant one mln trees reaches disputed territories

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The national initiative to plant one million trees across the Kurdistan Region reached the disputed district of Khanqian on Tuesday.

It’s been months since an initiative to plant one million trees across the Kurdistan Region was launched by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President, Bafel Talabani.

The representative of Talabani’s office, Hussin Hama Kareem said that the national initiative has reached the disputed district of Khanaqin.

“Further green spaces have been added to dozens of parks in Khanaqin with trees that fit the district’s weather,” He said.

“The initiative will be continued in the next days in the downtown, and it will stretch to Gulala and Jalawla sub-districts later,” He added.
