SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Baghdad is the strategic depth of the Kurdistan Region, Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Saturday said.
The Deputy Prime Minister received a delegation from the Iraqi Council of Representatives in Sulaimani’s Dabashan area earlier today, his press office announced.
The two sides highlighted Erbil-Baghdad relationships and stressed a fundamental long-lasting resolution to the outstanding issues.
The meeting also honored the memories of the late Kurdish leader, President Mam Jalal Talabani for the significant role that he played in the Iraqi political process.
In the meantime, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized deepening the spirit of harmony and tolerance.
“We should all adopt Mam Jalal’s perceptions to resolve the disputes for the sake of peace and national unity,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
“We have always said that Baghdad is the strategic depth of the Kurdistan Region,” He noted.
“Even though the current situation of the Erbil-Baghdad relationships is good terms, we should all work for further brotherhood,” He continued.
