SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Australian Ambassador to Iraq Paula Ganly on Friday made a visit to the city of Kirkuk and met with governor Rakan Al-Jubouri.
“Ambassador Paula Ganly is the first Australian official to visit Kirkuk as this visit affirms the importance of the province and its security and social stability,” Al-Jubouri said in a statement cited by the state news agency (INA).
In the meeting, the Ambassador and Kirkuk’s governor highlighted opportunities for cooperation in the fields of agricultural, economic, and commercial sectors in light of cooperation between Iraq and Australia.
They also discussed the efforts to relocate the internally displaced people and opportunities to rehabilitate communities that have returned to their areas, including women empowerment, according to INA.
