SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi President Latif Rashid on an official on Saturday arrived in the Iranian capital, Teheran, and was received by his counterpart Ebrahim Raisi.
The Iraqi President is leading a high-ranking delegation in Tehran which includes the Deputy of the Prime Minister and Iraq’s Foreign Minister, the Minister of Electricity, the Minister of Water Resources, National Security Advisor Qassim Al-Araji, and several advisors and senior officials.
The visit comes upon an official invitation from the Iranian President, according to a statement read by Rashid’s office.
“President Latif Rashid was officially welcomed by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, at Saadabad Palace in Tehran,” the office said in the statement.
“President Rashid and President Raisi held bilateral talks, and they discussed Baghdad-Tehran relations of friendship and how to boost them and strengthen their cooperation, in the areas of energy, water resources, environment, climate, and tourism in the ways that would most serve both nations’ ties,” It added.
They also emphasized the importance of further collaboration and coordination on the issues of common concern, so as to promote security and stability in the region, according to the statement.
