SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani has been invited to visit Qatar amid his efforts to develop Kurdistan-Qatar bilateral ties, according to his press office.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani received the invitation from Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al-Murakhi during a meeting with the diplomat on the sideline of the 8th Delphi Economic Forum in Greece, a press release from his office read.

Talabani and Murakhi highlighted the ways to strengthen Kurdistan-Qatar bilateral ties, especially in the fields of trading, relations between universities in Kurdistan and Qatar, and sports, according to the statement.

The 8th Delphi Economic Forum in the ancient town of Delphi, in central Greece, was kicked off on Wednesday with the participation of 990 speakers from 70 countries and is set to continue until April 29.

During the three-day Forum, heads of state, policymakers, and business figures across the globe address a range of issues including the war in Ukraine, the future of Democracy, climate, and environmental issues as well as technological advancement.

Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Talabani has participated in the Forum for the second year in a row.
