SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkey’s pro-Kurdish Democratic Party (HDP) on Tuesday blamed Turkish spies for “assassinating” its member in the city of Duhok, Kurdistan Region, on Monday night.
Earlier, last night, Duhok police in a statement announced a suspect was fatally shot and killed a fellow citizen from the North of Kurdistan (Bakur).
The incident reportedly occurred inside a shopping center, Duhok’s Family Mall, where police also stated it has identified the suspect and launched manhunt operations.
Turkey-based HDP which is a pro-Kurdish party claimed in a press briefing that last night’s Duhok shooting targeted its member and blamed Turkish spies in the city for the incident.
“We very well know that the killer of our comrade is the AKP, MHP, and the Erdogan regime,” the press briefing read in the city of Erbil.
The HPD also strongly denounced the incident and demanded justice for the victim, calling on authorities to find the perpetrators of this heinous attack, according to the press briefing.
There was no up-to-date information from the Duhok police regarding the incident and the status of the suspect.
