Three civilians injured following bomb explosion in Sidakan

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least three civilians were injured on Thursday following a roadside bomb explosion in Erbil province.

The incident occurred in the Sidakan area, where a civilian vehicle has been targeted by a roadside bomb resulting in casualties, according to information obtained by Esta.

Preliminary information indicated that three persons were admitted to Ashti Hospital in Soran to receive treatment.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.

The vicinity of the area where the blast occurred is known for frequent clashes between Turkey and the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) militants.

The PKK is a Kurdish group fighting for broader rights in Turkey which Ankara, the United States, and the European Union have designated a “terrorist” organization.

No further information is available up to this moment, with local authorities yet to comment on the incident.
