SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani met Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq Qais Khazali in Baghdad on Friday.
The two leaders discussed the latest political changes and resolving issues between Erbil and Baghdad, a statement from Talabani’s office said.
They also stressed initiating a new political stage, where the constitution is the basis for action and the rights of all sides are guarded, the statement added.
In the meantime, Talabani reiterated PUK’s eagerness to reach a positive outcome, saying “Our priority is to overcome the current situation and secure a stable life for our people,” according to the statement.
Earlier on Thursday Talabani held separate meetings with Ammar Al-Hakim, leader of the Hikma movement, and the head of the Al-Fateh alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, and Secretary-General of Babylon movement Rayan Kldani.
The meetings were focused on the latest developments and Kurdistan-Baghdad relations.
