PUK President meets with Hikma leader in Baghdad

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani on Thursday met with Ammar Al-Hakim, the leader of the Iraqi Hikma movement.

Talabani who is in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, accompanied by a PUK delegation was received by the Hikma leader, a statement released by Talabani’s office said.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed Kurdistan and Iraq issues, stressing enduring dialogue and understanding to offer further service to people and support the reform agenda.

Talabani and Hakim also highlighted the historic friendship between late President Mam Jalal and the Al-Hakim family, according to the statement.

“We respectfully look at your support in the different stages of the Kurdish struggle and we will not forget it,” Talabani told Hakim.
