SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Security agencies on Sunday announced they had arrested a man in Baghdad accused of killing his parents.

The man was also charged with injuring his sister, the state-run Iraqi news agency (INA) reported, citing Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency.

The man had shot the victims dead and later fled to Baghdad’s Zayouna area. He has been indicted by the Iraqi authorities for the horrible crime.

A pistol also belonged to the man was retrieved by the security agencies in a trash in the vicinity of the area where the suspect has been arrested, according to INA.

Gun crimes in Iraq are at a critical level. The government has failed to control illegal arms in the black markets, where citizens have easy access to obtain them at affordable prices.
