SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Four improvised explosive devices (IED) hit different areas of Baghdad city on Tuesday, the Iraqi military said.
Iraqi Security Media Cell said in a statement that three IEDs exploded near three stores selling alcoholic beverages in al-Ataba, Dora and Amiriyah areas in the Iraqi capital.
The explosions only caused material damages, the statement read.
Another bomb exploded in the neighborhood of al-Adil, which was planted under a vehicle belonging to an Iraqi citizen who works at a private company in Baghdad, the Iraqi military added.
A team from the directorate of bomb disposal also defused another IED in Ataba area, according to the Iraqi military.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but Islamic State (ISIS) militants are believed to stage such attacks.
The federal government announced victory over Islamic State by the end of 2017 after Iraqi and Kurdish forces backed by U.S.-led Coalition regained control of areas once captured by the militant group.
Despite its defeat, ISIS still poses a threat to the security and stability of the country as there are still sleeper cells in Iraq.
