SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Minister of Defense Thabet Muhammed Saeed met with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi in Teheran, according to the state news agency (INA) on Monday.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed “common issues related to the security aspect between the two neighboring countries,” INA reported, citing a statement from the Ministry of Defense.

It also reported that Iran’s Raisi has stressed “Tehran’s support for the efforts made by Iraq to rebuild the country in all respects.”

Last Wednesday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the foreign minister of Iran, arrived in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, addressed Iran-Iraq security issues.
