Garmain Asayish says it had seized 213 smuggled pistols

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Local security forces (Asayish) in Garmian on Wednesday announced that it had seized 213 smuggled pistols.

“After collecting precise information the security learned about the operation of a firearms trafficking bandit in the area, transiting guns and weapons illegally,” read a statement from Garmian Asayish.

“The bandit was also charged with penetrating firearms to the outside of the Kurdistan Region,” the statement added.

Moreover, two suspects were detained by the security forces in connection to the bandit, according to the statement.
