SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday announced that the number of Iraqi citizens who died in the devastating Turkey earthquake has risen to 13.
“We have registered 13 deaths from the Iraqi community in Turkey as a result of the earthquake,” said the spokesman of the Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, adding “one family is also still missing.”
Turkey and neighboring Syria have been rocked by a devastating earthquake on Feb. 6 which killed more than 41,000 people and left millions in need of humanitarian aid, with many survivors having been left homeless in near-freezing winter temperatures.
“Three relief planes will depart for quake-hit Gaziantep on Thursday,” he added.
