PUK President, President of Federal Supreme Court stress strengthening judicial authority

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Talabani, and the president of the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court, Faeq Zaidan, on Monday stressed strengthening the judicial authority.

Talabani and Zaidan met in Baghdad where the two sides stressed strengthening the judicial authority, courts’ impartiality, and protecting human rights.

In the meeting, the two sides named the “constitution” as the foundation to address Erbil-Baghdad outstanding issues.

Moreover, the Kurdish leader pointed out a lasting national agreement for permanent resolution of the issues in a manner with the rights of all sides preserved and among which the federal supreme court plays an “effective” and “positive” role.
