SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed al-Sudani, on Monday, received the White House Coordinator for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, Brett McGurk.
The U.S. and the Iraqi official met in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, where they discussed the relationships between the two countries, the state news agency (INA) reported.
The two sides also highlighted the ways to strengthen and develop the relationships in a manner that serves the mutual interest of both countries, according to the INA.
Meanwhile, Sudani affirmed the capabilities of the Iraqi security forces in combating terror and enforcing stability.

Moreover, in return, McGurk demonstrated his country’s support to the ongoing Iraqi government.
The U.S. official further reiterated the U.S.’s commitment to supporting the “governmental reforms” in the Iraqi energy infrastructure and combating climate change as well as other various felids.
The U.S. advisory mission to support the Iraqi military will continue, according to McGurk.
Esta Media Media Network has learned, McGurk has also met with the top Kurdish official in the Kurdistan Region capital, Erbil.
