Iraqi integrity commission sentences ex-government official to prison

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An ex-government official has been sentenced to prison, the Iraqi commission of integrity said on Monday.

The former general inspector of the Iraqi ministry of health has been sentenced to two years in prison. He was charged with involvement in corruption, the commission of integrity added.

Meanwhile, the charged inspector has not been arrested yet because he has fled following the commission’s decision.

As a result, the Iraqi commission of integrity has decided to confiscate all of the charged ex-government official’s properties and wealth.
