SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President, Bafel Talabani, met with head of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement Ammar al-Hakim, in Baghdad on Friday.
In a meeting, the latest political and economic developments were discussed including the issue of Iraq’s budget and the financial entitlements of the Kurdistan people, said Talabani’s media office.
The pair agreed to resolve the issues on the foundation of the constitution, preventing people’s lives to be mixed with the political disputes, it added.
In the meantime, Talabani stressed unifying the efforts to reach a “national” agreement regarding the Kurdistan Region’s share in the budget and providing the financial entitlements.
“It’s been years that the Kurdistan Region and its people pay the cost of the issues,” and “victimized,” said Talabani, according to his office.
Talabani further noted, “As a result, with our friends and brothers in Baghdad we want to permanently resolve this issue and put an end to that situation.”
“This the priority for the PUK and will do anything about it,” Talabani stressed.
