PUK, KDP to meet in near future: official

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Both the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) will meet in a near future to resolve the issues, said a party official on Saturday.

Head of the headquarters of the PUK in Erbil Majeed Hama Ameen said, “As the PUK we are ready for any agreements and togetherness for the sake of Kurdistan People.”

“The PUK and the KDP meeting is near. This will be the first step to resolve the issues,” he added.

The official’s words came amid the funeral ceremony of the top Kurdish Commander, the Commander of the Kurdistan Forces, Akam Omar in Erbil.

The Commander died on Monday in Germany but his body has flown back to his birthplace Erbil, where he was laid to rest after a large funeral ceremony attended by officials from the Peshmerga forces, government, political parties, and representatives of foreign military missions
