Court sentences man to prison over disguising him self as doctor, judge, lawyer

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An Iraqi Court on Sunday sentenced a man to seven years in prison over disguising himself and working as a doctor, judge, and a lawyer, deceiving people on social media platforms.

The Iraqi Supreme Council said in a statement, that Baghdad’s Karkh court has sentenced a man to seven years in prison after he disguised and introduced himself in different areas of professions.

The statement did not reveal further details about the suspect’s status and background while adding that he also possessed fake accounts on social media.

“He pictured himself as a doctor on social media, publishing kinds of stuff,” the Council in the statement said.

Moreover, the court mentioned in the statement that the suspect also disguised himself as a Deputy to the Head of the Iraqi Supreme Council.

“The suspect involved in forging official documents as well,” it added in the statement.

In the meantime, the Court officials discovered a message in his handphone, blackmailing one of the General Directors of the Iraqi Banks.

“He blackmailed the director for personal gains,” said the court, without elaboration.
