Heavy rain in Kirkuk causes flash floods, 2 kids dead

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least two deaths were reported which were kids on Friday as heavy rains lashed Kirkuk province causing flash floods.

Authorities noted that Kirkuk received 89.9mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours on Friday.

The overall province including the center of the city of Kirkuk witnessed torrential rain and flooding, accompanied by, thunder and lightning.

Flash floods caused by heavy rains in Hasara village of Kirkuk vanished two kids late Friday night which were later found but drowned, Esta reporter said.

The kids were Arab nationals one of them was a 1-year-old girl and the other was a 1-month-old boy who belonged to a family in the village that worked on a fish farming pool there, according to the reporter.

Their bodies were discovered after the residents of the village began searching for nearly four hours.
