President Talabani receives British ambassador to Iraq in Baghdad

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson-Richardson in Baghdad on Sunday.

The two sides discussed the latest political, economic, and developments in Iraq, Talabani’s office said in a statement.

They also touched upon the coordination between political forces to succeed and implement the new Iraqi government agenda.

“The government steps and efforts in the direction of implementing the constitution and the rule of law deserve happiness,” Talabani said.

“We should all support the Iraqi government in this sensitive phase for the sake of leading Iraq toward a tranquil offshore, building a brighter future,” he added.

Talabani who is in the Iraqi capital currently has carried out several top meetings with senior Iraqi officials and political figures while discussions mostly focus on further cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
