Kurdistan Region student stabbed to death in Iran

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A Kurdistan Region student died on Tuesday after he was stabbed to death by a number of assailants in Iran’s Ahvaz city.

21-year-old Bashdar Fayaq who was originally from the Bardarsh sub-district of Erbil succumbed to his injuries since he was been stabbed on November, 3, in Ahvaz.

Esta Media Network has learned that the victim used to study at a medical college in the city and was a sophomore student.

His family told the local news outlets that Fayaq was stabbed by a number of assailants inside a park near his university, severely injuring him. Even though he went through four surgeries, he could not survive and succumbed to his injuries today.

They also said that the assailants stole Fayaq’s money and handphone. However, it is unclear if the stabbing suspects were captured or are still on the loose.
