SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Parliament on Tuesday removed the Oil Minister as the acting Finance Minister following a recommendation by the finance committee.

Earlier in mid-August Iraq’s Finance Minister Ali Allawi submitted his resignation. After, the Prime Minister designated Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabar to fill the position as an acting Minister.

Back then, Allawi told Iraq media that he resigned due to excessive corruption within the Institutions.

Abdul Jabar’s removal came after the parliament has voted for by the majority.

It was followed by a request from several members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives that was earlier submitted to the presidency of the chamber.
