Iraqi President to participate next Arab summit in Algeria

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi President Barham Salih on Sunday received an official invitation letter to attend the next session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit Level.

President Salih received the personal envoy of the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Algerian Minister of Justice at the presidential palace in Baghdad, the state news agency said.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has delivered an invitation letter by the Minister, inviting Salih to participate in the 31st Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit Level.

The next Arab summit is scheduled to be held in Algeria in November.

During the meeting, the pair also emphasized the importance of working to strengthen the bilateral relations in various fields and joint coordination in a way that achieves common interests.

President Salih confirmed the acceptance of the invitation to attend the summit to the envoy, INA said.
