Sadr calls on coordination framework supporters to protest against corruption

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on Friday directed a message to the supporters of his political opponent the Shiite coordination framework to protest against corruption.

Iraqi influential cleric al-Sadr who leads the Sadrist social and political movement told the coordination framework supporters to hold peaceful a protest for reform.

“We agree with the supporters of the coordination framework but not with its leaders,” Sadr in the message said.

Sadr’s message has released when the Shiite coordination framework decided to hold a counter-protest in Baghdad on Friday to accelerate the government formation as the Sadrist supports continue the sit-in inside the fortified Green Zone.
