SULAIMANI (ESTA) — In the course of one hour the Turkish warplanes have carried out four airstrikes on Duhok’s Sargale village according to Esta reporter on Friday.

Esta report in Duhok said, since 2:00 p.m. of the afternoon, at least four airstrikes were carried out by the Turkish warplanes on Sargale village, located in the Amedi district of Duhok province.

“The bombed area is only one kilometer far from the residential complex,” the reporter said.

Casualties are unclear but fear sparked among the locals due to the bombing and several houses were damaged as well, according to the reporter’s words.

Turkey has taken its decades-old conflict with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) deep into the Kurdistan Region, establishing military bases and deploying armed military drones against the fighters in their mountain strongholds.

The PKK’s hostility toward Turkey dates back to decades ago when it waged an insurgency since 1984 against the state of Turkey. Since then the Turkish military has also conducted numerous ground and aerial cross-border offensives into the deep land of the Kurdistan Region aimed to eradicate the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) activities.

Most of the operations have focused on territory up to 30 km (20 miles) from the border.
