Iraqi Parliament to hold second session concerning Turkey’s deadly attack: MP

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Iraqi Council of representatives will hold the second session regarding Turkey’s deadly bombing, said a member of the council on Sunday.

Member of the security and defense council committee in the Iraqi parliament Mahdi Taqi said, “The council will another session in regards to Duhok’s Parakh deadly bombing by Turkey shortly”.

“It followed by accomplishing the committee’s joint mission with the government concerning Turkey’s hostilities,” he said.

Earlier on Wednesday, deadly shelling targeted a touristic site in Duhok’s Parakh village killing and injuring 34 civilians, and authorities in Iraq have explicitly accused Turkey of the attack including the Prime Minister as well as foreign minister Fuad Hussain.

The Iraqi parliament presidency board has recently decided in the past few days to form a joint investigation committee with the government to investigate the attack.

Turkey’s hostility inside Iraq backs to a deep-rooted conflict with Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) which mainly maintains its bases in the Kurdistan Region. It always sparked conflict with the Local Authorities and officials in both Ankara and Baghdad for breaching the country’s sovereignty.
