Kurdistan Region logs 403 new COVID-19 cases, 26 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region logged 403 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 26 deaths on Friday, said the health ministry.

In a statement, the Region’s health ministry said it had recorded 105 new cases in Erbil, 126 in Sulaimani, 144 in Duhok, six in Halabja, 20 in Garmian and two in Raparin.

The ministry further said it had registered seven deaths in Erbil, 12 in Sulaimani, three in Duhok, two in Halabja and two more in Garmian.

As many as 209 more patients had recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the ministry added.

The Kurdistan Region’s total number of infections reached 95,638, of which 3,104 died and 59,241 recovered, according to the ministry’s figures.
