Turkish military established two new military bases in Kurdistan Region – reporter

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Esta reporter said on Monday that the Turkish army inside the Kurdistan Region is established two new military bases in Duhok province.

Esta’s newsman reported, that the last night the Turkish army established two more military bases in Amedi district of Duhok province, “The bases have been set up in Matina Mountain”.

Turkey has relaunched its military operations intensively for nearly ten days, and thus, came after it added more bases in that vicinity, according to the reporter.

Turkey has taken its decades-old conflict with the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) deep into the Kurdistan Region, establishing military bases and deploying armed military drones against the fighters in their mountain strongholds. It aimed to back up its operations again PKK positions in the Region.

The Turkish military has also conducted numerous ground and aerial cross-border offensives into neighboring northern Iraq to attack PKK fighters, which maintain bases in the region.
