Strong wind causes flights cancelation at Sulaimani International Airport

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Strong wind in Sulaimani caused the cancelation of flights inside Sulaimani International Airport (ISU) said authorities of the airport on Tuesday.

It is been a few days since strong windy weather has covered Sulaimani’s vicinity including its downtown, and the forecast said the wind will last until Wednesday plus it get stronger, according to Kurdistan’ Meteorology on Tuesday.

“We don’t know when the flights will be resumed again” this is the quote general director of (ISU) airport Tahir Abdulla after a strong breeze hit Sulaimani and halted airport flights.

Abdulla told Esta Media Network, “So-far two departure flights have been canceled due to unstable weather conditions”.

“Cancelling flights in this kind of situation is normal because the passengers’ safety is the main priority” Abdulla added.
