SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Jalal Talabani met with Russian Consul-General to the Kurdistan Region Oleg Levin Vladimirovich on Wednesday as the talks continue regarding the formation of next Iraq’s government.
Talabani received Vladimirovich and the latest steps toward the formation of government have been discussed, the meeting marked the end of the Consul mission in the Kurdistan Region, as stated by Talabani’s media office in a statement.
“We work to establish a new governance with our colleagues in Baghdad that aimed to strengthen the pillars of the state and expand its services for people,” Talabani said according to the statement.
Nine months have passed since the last general election but still, the talks over the government formation continue among the political figures as the country is trapped inside deep political deadlock resulting from the delayance of electing the new cabinet officials.
President Talabani continued in the meeting with Vladimirovich and said, “We must be the real partner to the features of new Iraq’s government, all steps shall be taken within the framework of law and as well as constitution and right of every side should be preserved”.
Talabani’s efforts are intensified to bring a decisive agreement in favor of ending the country’s political impasses that lasted for a very long period time.
Earlier on Monday The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Jalal Talabani has received the top leaders of the Shiite coordination framework, al-Azim alliance as well as Babylon movement at former Iraq’s president (Jalal Talabani) palace in Baghdad.
