IED explosion kills farmer in Garmian administration

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Police in the Garmian administration launched an investigation on Tuesday following an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in which a young farmer died.

Spokesman of Garmian police Ali Jamal Qaduri said, late on Tuesday evening in Ali Amir sub-district of Garmian administration, the body of a young farmer aged 17-year-old received to Shahid Hazhar hospital in Kalar of Sulaimani province.

Police cited his family’s statement as saying that, he was an Arab farmer and used to touch an (IED) bomb accidentally, as the result he died after the bomb detonated.

“The farmer’s body is in Kalar forensic medicine, police arrived at the incident scene, and investigations have begun” Jamal Qaduri added.
