Hezbollah accuses groups associated with Turkish intelligence over Khor Mor attacks

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The spokesperson of pro-Iran militia group Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq said, groups that are associated with the Turkish intelligence service, are responsible for targeting oil and gas fields in the Kurdistan Region.

“Groups that are associated with Turkish intelligence service, and settled in Tuz Khurmatu district are responsible for the attacks” Iraq’s Hezbollah spokesperson Jafar al-Husane has tweeted.

From last week’s Wednesday, Dana Gas’ Khor Mor Field, in the Kurdistan Region’s district of Chamchamal, Sulaimani province, came under rocket fire. So far, three rocket attacks have been carried out on the Company.

Late on Saturday, Talabani met with Dana Gas officials, accompanied by Peshmerga Minister Shorsh Ismael and acting Minister of Kurdistan Natural Resources, at Khor Mor gas plant.

“Talabani assured Dana Gas officials that all efforts by the Kurdistan Region government will be made in order to protect the lives of employees inside the plant” according to a statement released by Talabani’s media office.

“We are collaborating with Iraq’s government to prevent such an attack,” it said.

Khor Mor gas field in Qaderkarem sub-district of Chamchamal run by United Arab Emirates energy company (Dana Gas). It is one of the largest gas projects in Iraqi Kurdistan and produces around 452 million cubic feet per day of gas.
