SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi will visit Iran and Saudi Arabia, state news agency (INA) reported on Saturday.

Iraqi News Agency cited an informed as saying that “Al-Kazemi will visit the Islamic Republic and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, within next upcoming days”

The visits will take place within the framework of recent discussions that Saudi Arabia and Iran held in Baghdad, (INA) noted.

“Al-Kazemi will discuss during his upcoming visit many files, including diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia,” it said.

Earlier in April, Iran and Saudi Arabia held the fifth round of direct talks in Baghdad, the main challenges to re-establishing ties between the two countries were discussed in a “positive” atmosphere that “painted a brighter outlook” for the future of bilateral relations, as stated by local news outlets.

Riyadh severed ties with Tehran in 2016 after Iranian protesters stormed the Saudi embassy in the Iranian capital following the execution of a Shi’ite cleric in Saudi Arabia.
