Authorities warn of extreme wave of diarrhea, vomiting among children

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Health authorities in Sulaimani warned about an extreme wave of diarrhea and vomiting among Children.

In a statement, the general directorate of health in Sulaimani said on Sunday that we are at the peak of spreading the epidemic among the children, it reached the highest level of hospitalization.

“Diarrhea and vomiting among Children are rapidly spiking in Sulaimani, and we are expecting more cases,” it said.

“It is the highest level of hospitalization in the past three years” it added.

So far 140 children had been hospitalized due to diarrhea and vomiting in the past few days, the disease is most likely originated from a virus, bacteria, some parasites, or allergic to some types of food, according to the statement.

The statement further said high temperatures as well as foods and drinks that are stored in warm places, saying they could cause diarrhea and vomiting as well.
