Member of Iranian opposition party wounded in Erbil’s blast: Kurdistan CT

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism group released a statement on Monday regarding Erbil’s vehicle explosion.

Earlier on Monday, A vehicle exploded in the ‘Setaqan’ neighborhood of Erbil, Kurdistan Region.

Following the incident, the Directorate General of Counter-Terrorism (CTD) or ‘Kurdistan CT’ issued a statement regarding Erbil’s blast saying, “One man was wounded, as the result of a bomb that linked to his vehicle,”

“The victim was a member of one of the opposition parties of Iran,” it said.

According to the statement, the vehicle exploded in the ‘Setaqan’ neighborhood of Erbil where the party’s headquarter is located, Investigations are still ongoing.

The Directorate General of Counter-Terrorism (CTD) or ‘Kurdistan CT’ is part of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC), it’s mainly based in Erbil, operating under the control of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
